Rural and remote emergency services standardisation (RRESS) guidelines
The RRESS guidelines were developed following coroner recommendations from critical incidents in small rural and remote Queensland Health facilities. By standardising emergency resources in all rural and remote facilities, Queensland Health aims to provide a safer, consistent and evidenced care to patients during time critical acute events. These guidelines provide concise recommended resources for all Queensland Health employees working in rural and remote health care facilities to provide acute response services.
The guidelines target our least resourced and most isolated facilities ie Level 1 or Level 2 services (or adapted for use by higher level facilities in Queensland and interstate jurisdictions on advice of local health services) under the Clinical Services Capability Framework Version 3.2 (2014).
