Submitting quarterly reports

All prescribed facilities are required to submit quarterly reports summarising the results of tests taken for Legionella in accordance with the facility’s water risk management plan.

The quarter details are:

  • Quarter 1 – 1 January to 31 March
  • Quarter 2 – 1 April to 30 June
  • Quarter 3 – 1 July to 30 September
  • Quarter 4 – 1 October to 31 December

The person in charge of the facility must submit the report within 30 business days from the end of the relevant reporting period. This can be done by:

The information to be recorded on the form is specific and details regarding the data elements are provided on the form.

Private residential aged care facilities are not yet required to submit quarterly reports to the Department of Health.

Refer to the table below for respective future submission dates. Note that local public holiday information has not been included in the calculation of these dates.
