Our role
It’s our job to make sure everyone in Queensland prisons gets quality health care.
We do this by:
- researching and redesigning services to meet prisoner health needs
- working with prisoners, health professionals and Corrective Services to resolve complex issues
- overseeing the systems we use to manage information
- developing policies, plans and funding proposals.
We've developed a health and wellbeing strategy to support our work, along with recommendations from the Offender Health Services Review (PDF 4297 kB).
We also work with consumer and industrial groups and have interdepartmental agreements with Queensland Corrective Services.
