Reframing the Relationship Plan

The Reframing the Relationship Plan (PDF 4271 kB) strengthens the Queensland Health commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. The plan recognises the importance of self-determination to First Nations people. A key priority for the First Nations Health Office is empowering First Nations voice and perspectives in healthcare service design and delivery.

The First Nations Health Office is leading Queensland Health to implement significant health system reforms to achieve health equity and maintain focus and momentum towards long-term goals and health outcomes.

Reframing the Relationship is enabled by mandated responsibilities in accordance with the Public Sector Act 2022 and aligns with current Queensland Health strategies, including:

  • Health Q32 First Nations First Strategy 2032
  • Queensland’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Equity Framework
  • Queensland Ambulance Service Cultural Capability Action Plan
  • Queensland Health’s role in the National Agreement on Closing the Gap
