Pharmaceutical and personal care products
Our laboratory provides testing of environmental, ground and waste waters for medications, cosmetics, lotions, sunscreen and other substances that are referred to as pharmaceutical and personal care products (PPCP). Tests are conducted using liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry (LCMSMS) and liquid chromatography high resolution mass spectrometry (LCHRMS).
Providing samples to us
When providing water samples for analysis, use a sample container that is 200mL, amber glass, solvent rinsed, with a potassium citrate, EDTA, ascorbic acid preservative. Samples should be chilled after collection.
Bottles are available from Forensic and Scientific Services and can be provided on request.
Limits of reporting (LOR)
The limits of reporting on the PPCP test report are being updated and are not currently reported correctly. This table lists the current suite of analytes and the correct LORs.
