Qld National Primary and Acute Care Data Linkage Project (NPACDLP)
The Queensland component of the National Primary and Acute Care Data Linkage Project is underway. The project aims to develop a data sharing system across primary and acute care to better understand patient flows and outcomes across the health system in Queensland. The design phase of the project will continue until August 2025.
The Queensland NPACDLP team is working collaboratively with stakeholders from Primary Health Networks (PHNs), General Practice, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Organisations and consumer groups as well as Queensland Health. The project is coordinated nationally through a national project team including representatives from all state and territory health departments, the Department of Health and Aged Care (policy lead), the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (technical lead), PHNs and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Health Organisations.
The project will be guided by:
- the national project deliverables
- Queensland-specific requirements
- the Queensland NPACDLP Steering Committee
- Advisory Committees and working groups
- Consultation with key stakeholder groups
In scope for the NPACDLP:
- Privacy preserving linkage
- Primary care and acute care datasets
- System planning and improvement and population health use cases
- Reciprocal data exchange between all parties
Out of scope of this project:
- Data sharing and linkage for clinical purposes
- Real-time data sharing
- Implementation of the design
