Working with radiation sources
If your research involves working with radiation sources, you may need:
- a Possession Licence – if you what to have the overall ownership and control of a radiation source
- an Approval to Acquire – if you want to purchase or obtain a radiation source
- a Use Licence – if you want to use a radiation source.
If you’re research involves imaging, you’ll need to have a radiation dose and risk assessment report prepared by a qualified medical physicist. Find out more about radiation dose and risk assessments for research.
