Optional Clinical Placement
Course outline
You may wish to embed your learning from the Cunningham Centre Immunisation Course by completing clinical placement hours and a clinical skills assessment. While this optional training is not mandatory for the course, it will allow you to consolidate your skills and gain practical experience in a child, adolescent or adult setting.
You will complete a minimum of 4 hours clinical placement and a clinical skills assessment (1 hour).
Placements can be facilitated within your workplace or in an external facility.

Careers and outcomes
You will be awarded a Certificate of Completion and a minimum of 5 hours Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours upon successful completion of the course.
Admission criteria
You must have successfully completed the Cunningham Centre Immunisation Course and reside in Queensland.
You will be responsible for your travel expenses to attend clinical placement.
Apply
Entry is by an application and selection process during your enrolment to the Cunningham Centre Immunisation Course. You will receive an application link from our Nursing team (ccnursing@health.qld.gov.au).
To secure your placement and prevent delays, you will be required to provide evidence documents (e.g. mandatory vaccinations) before placement. You will also be required to complete clinical placement documentation as advised by our team when a placement offer is made.
Before you apply, you should review the academic guidelines and check the software requirements to ensure your computer system is compatible with our learning systems.
Course dates
Your placement dates will vary but clinical placement should ideally occur within 4 weeks of your course completion (subject to health service facility availability).
