Course outline
These free, self-paced and interactive courses will equip you to administer, manage, or receive vaccines in Queensland.
This course has been developed by the Queensland Health Immunisation Program (QHIP) in partnership with Cunningham Centre for general education purposes and does not lead to an authorised immunisation provider. Visit Health Education Services Australia (HESA) for a list of accredited immunisation courses.
This program consists of 4 courses:
- Vaccine development and safety
- The National Immunisation Program
- Vaccine preparation and administration
- Vaccine management
Each course is made up of several modules that contain a series of multiple-choice questions. There is no assessment linked to the modules.
Careers and outcomes
These courses are designed to benefit all immunisation service providers in Queensland, regardless of your level of skills and knowledge. The courses are recommended for:
- Registered Nurses, Registered Midwives, Enrolled Nurses, Nurse Practitioners and Endorsed Midwives
- General Practitioners, General Practice managers and administration staff
- Pharmacists and pharmacy staff
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioners, Health Workers and Indigenous Health Workers
- Primary Health Network support staff
- Allied Health professionals
- anyone involved in immunisation management including storage and service delivery.
You will be awarded a Certificate of Completion and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours.
Admission criteria
There are no admission requirements for these online courses.
