Consultation room

Queensland Community Pharmacy Hormonal Contraception Pilot services must be delivered in a private consultation area for patient privacy and to ensure confidential conversations and patient examinations can be conducted.

To meet all consultation area requirements detailed in the Extended Practice Authority–Pharmacist, the private consultation area must:

• ensure patients’ privacy and confidentiality
• have sufficient space to allow the presence of the following: the patient a carer if necessary the pharmacist undertaking the consultation consumables equipment and documentation
• have seating for the patient and their carer during the consultation.
