Community clinics (Primary Health Care Centres)
Community clinics (Primary Health Care Centres) generally serve small populations in rural, remote and very remote locations within Queensland. Services provided at a community clinic include treatment and triage for lower acuity medical conditions and minor procedures plus life support and stabilisation prior to transfer to a higher level health service. They may also provide a range of other primary, ambulatory, aged care, prenatal care, postnatal care and community services.
There are currently 53 community clinics in Queensland, of which the majority are in the Torres and Cape Hospital and Health Service. The below Community Clinics reported data in the 2013/2014 financial year. No data was reported in the 2014/2015, 2015/16 and 2016/17 financial years for the facilities in table below.
