You must be a domestic student interested in enrolling in the Bachelor of Medical Radiation (Nuclear Medicine) at RMIT and live in Queensland.
We will try to place all applicants but can only offer a limited number of embedded student program placements. If you aren't successful, or you're not a domestic student, we still encourage you to apply to become a Nuclear Medicine Scientist through the standard university application process.
Please note: To help protect our patients, staff, and the wider community, it is a requirement that students working in Nuclear Medicine departments are immunised against (and provide evidence for) vaccine preventable diseases. More information about this requirement is outlined in the Protocol for vaccine preventable disease screening for contractors, students and volunteers.

When we assess your application, we’ll consider your responses to the following:
- What is nuclear medicine and why are you interested in pursuing a career in Queensland as a nuclear medicine scientist?
- What subjects you studied in Year 12.
- Examples where you've showcased your organizational skills, initiative, and self-motivation.
- What you understand person-centred care to be as a widely recognised foundation to safe, high-quality health care, and why it is important for health professionals to apply it in their practice.
-
Applications are currently closed for the Nuclear Scientist Embedded Student Program.
Your details are confidential, and we’ll only use them to contact you about your application. View the Queensland Health Privacy Policy.
Remember: If you are planning to apply for the Nuclear Medicine Scientist Embedded Student Program scholarship, you'll need to submit a separate application.

Your expression of interest and supporting information will be assessed by a panel and you will be required to undertake an interview.
If you’re successful, you'll be provided with a formal letter so that you can let RMIT know that you will be supported in Queensland as part of the Nuclear Medicine Scientist Embedded Student Program.
You will need to apply for entry to the approved program in Nuclear Medicine Science to RMIT, who will assess your application into the course.
Once you have been accepted by Queensland Health and RMIT, you will be linked with a site contact in Queensland Health for your orientation and induction.
