Improving the lives of children and adolescents through high quality innovative research

 

 

QCMRI

The QCMRI is a child and adolescent health focused research institute developed as a partnership between Children's Health Services, the Children's Health Foundation Queensland and the University of Queensland.

The QCMRI aims to improve the health of children and adolescents through outstanding research. In support of this mission, QCMRI's goals can be further defined as:

The QCMRI have 5 over-arching research themes:

  1. cancer and cell biology
  2. the developing brain, growth and a healthy start to life
  3. infection, inflammation and the environment
  4. burns, trauma and the critically ill
  5. innovative, evidence based health care and delivery.

With over 180 researchers, research students and support staff at QCMRI, and research strengths in respiatory medicine, infectious disease, burns and trauma, cancer, endocrinology, cerebral palsy and telemedicine, the QCMRI is playing a lead role in child and adolescent health research in Queensland.
