MASS - Responsibilities
Applicant's responsibilities
- To provide your prescriber and MASS with accurate information on your health situation
- To advise MASS of any change of address or eligibility circumstances
- To follow instructions regarding the correct usage of aids and equipment
- To interact in a courteous and co-operative manner when dealing with MASS staff, prescribers and suppliers
- To be on time for appointments with health professionals
Prescriber's responsibilities
- To be familiar with the MASS Statewide Prescriber Procedures Manual
- To be aware of MASS’ expectations of prescribers when making an application
- To ensure the applicant and their carer have had full involvement with the MASS application process and understand the scope of the subsidy scheme
- To ensure that the aids and equipment requested are suitable for the applicant’s needs
MASS' responsibilities
- To provide a service in line with the goals and strategic objectives of Queensland Health
- To retain accurate records on service requests and service provision
- To disclose MASS administrative and clinical eligibility criteria in the MASS Statewide Prescriber Procedures Manual
- To make judgements on applicant eligibility based on information provided in the application form
- To behave ethically and in accordance with the Queensland Health Code of Conduct
- To provide services in accordance with the Australian Charter on Health Care Rights on Rights and Responsibilities
