LeavesIntegrated Skills Strategy

The Integrated Skills Development Strategy (ISD) provides a range of workforce development activities that are designed to support more than one thousand Queensland Department of Communities funded agencies (inc. staff, volunteers and management committees) to attract, develop and retain a skilled workforce capable of providing high quality services to meet client needs.

Health Skills Formation Strategy

The Health Skills Formation Strategy (HSFS) facilitates state-wide strategic engagement on workforce development challenges across the health industry in Queensland.  It provides opportunities for the entire health industry, as well as education and training stakeholders, to work together to identify and implement workforce solutions.

Disability Sector Training Fund

The Disability Sector Training Fund Project (DSTF) coordinates high quality and accessible skills development activities for agencies funded by the Queensland Department of Communities, Disability Services (staff and Volunteers) and to parents and carers across Queensland. These activities are planned in direct response to the needs of communities across Queensland.

Skills Alliance

Skills Alliance is the key advisor to the Queensland Department of Education and Training on the skilling needs of the Health and Community Services Industries in Queensland. Skills Alliance offers industry stakeholders an important opportunity to influence the training agenda of the Queensland Government.

Indigenous Allied Health Careers

Many Australian universities offer entry-level courses in the allied health professions. The professional associations of the various allied health professions have information on the universities which offer undergraduate and post graduate courses in their profession. More information on website.

Indigenous Health Career workshops

The Indigenous Health Careers Workshops are offered to Year 10 students of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage across Queensland. The workshops are funded by Queensland Health and coordinated by the Cunningham Centre - Southern Area Workforce Unit.
