Due recognition of HACC funding
The Home and Community Care (HACC) Program requires service providers to formally acknowledge the Australian Government contribution to the HACC Program. Requiring ‘due recognition' of HACC funding ensures that the community is appropriately informed about how public funding is spent.
The HACC logo was developed as a simple way to recognise Australian Government funding of HACC activities, and its design also acknowledges the contribution of state/territory governments.
The HACC logo is a registered trade mark protected by Australia-wide copyright and unauthorised use is not permitted. A sub-licensing process is in place to enable HACC-funded agencies to use the logo in order to identify HACC-funded initiatives. The logo is used on office stationery, publications, reports, promotional materials, websites, uniforms, identification badges, signage, etc to recognise the HACC funding source.
HACC-funded vehicles
HACC-funded vehicles are identified by the use of official HACC car stickers or magnetic signs, which are available free of charge from the HACC Resource Unit.
Queensland Government HACC services
The Queensland Government, through the Department of Communities – the administrator of the HACC Program in Queensland – is licensed by the Australian Government to use the HACC logo and to issue sub-licences to approved HACC service providers. Queensland Government HACC services are covered by the State of Queensland’s licence.
New Procedures for Non-government HACC Services
All non-government organisations (NGOs) funded by HACC are required to have a logo sub-licence. From 1 July 2010, the HACC Branch, Department of Communities, will send out a HACC Logo Sub-licensing Agreement as a schedule attached to each service provider’s new HACC Service Agreement. The Sub-Licensing Agreement must be signed and witnessed by authorised officials of the NGO, and returned to the HACC Branch for execution.
Electronic copies of the logo and the HACC Program’s Due Recognition Guidelines (PDF 128 kB) will continue to be issued by the Media & Communications Officer, HACC Resource Unit, following the sub-licensing process.
